Trail Peppered Beef and Noodle

Jerky can be used for making dinner as well as a lovely dinner on the trail.
3-4 healthy servings
Ingredients
120 g beef
2 cups egg noodles
1 cups milk powder
8 Tbsp bell peppers
2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 handfuls spinach
2.5 cups water (the water label on the ziplock has been fixed here on the blog)
Directions at home
1. Slice partially frozen beef or venison into 1/8-1/4 inch thick slices. Marinate the meat for 6-24 hours, I did a Montreal steak spice and soy sauce marinade which paired wonderfully with the meal. Dehydrate on high for 4-6 hours or until the meat is fully dry.
2. Wash and slice bell peppers into 1/8-1/4 inch thick slices. Dehydrate on medium for 8-10 hours.
3. Wash and destem spinach leaves. Dehydrate on medium for 2-4 hours.
4. Chop beef into bite sized pieces and place in ziplock bag with noodles, milk, peppers, basil, salt and pepper. Add the spinach to a separate little ziplock and place it inside the larger bag.
Directions on the trail
1. Combine the ziplock contents and the water in your pot and allow to soak for 10-15 minute (we use this time to set up camp). Do not add the spinach yet.
2. Bring to a boil and cook until noodles are done to your liking.
3. Stir in the spinach and enjoy!
