As a foods teacher in Alberta this recipe is a must. It is a basic recipe that can be baked or fried or even toasted over the campfire.

Ingredients

4 cups flour
3 1/2 Tbsp baking powder
3 1/2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup oil

Directions

  1. Combine dry ingredients
  2. Make well in the centre of dry ingredients
  3. Add liquids and form into soft dough
  4. Knead on the counter 5-10 times
  5. Shape into biscuit shape and bake at 350F for 10-15 or until it golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
