Honey Oat Bread

Posted in /Cooking/Breads on Sunday, January 08, 2017

The smell of homemade bread always makes my mouth water. This bread is easy to make and is perfect for breakfast toast, sandwiches or a dinner bun.

Ingredients

1 Cup water
1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup oats
2 1/3 flour(I use 1 cup white & 1 1/3 cup multigrain)
1 tsp yeast

Directions

1. Place all ingredients in the bread machine in the order above
2. Select dough setting
3. When dough is done preheat oven to 350 degrees

Loaf

4. Grease a loaf pan with cooking spray
5. Knead dough and shape into loaf, place dough in loaf pan and
6. Sprinkle with flour and let rise for 30 minutes with a damp cloth over top
7. Place in oven for 35 minutes

Buns

8.Divide dough in 16 balls. Use fingers to make each portion into a smooth ball. Place on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and allow them to rise until almost
double.
9. Use a wooden skewer to gently press down in the middle of each roll. Dipping your skewer in flour makes it easier.
10. Whisk eggs and water together for glaze and gently coat rolls. Sprinkle a few quick oats on top of each roll before the glaze dries.
11. Bake at 350 for 10-13 minutes. Allow to cool on a rack for a few minutes or eat as soon as they are cool enough to eat.
