Raspberry Tammy Jammy

Posted in /Cooking/Breakfast/Jam on Saturday, January 14, 2017

Homemade jam is so much better than store bought jam. It doesn't have to hard to make, in fact I've had students who have made extremely successful jam.

Ingredients

3 3/4 cup crush or pureed raspberry
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 Certo liquid pectin
6 1/2 cups Sugar
2 Tbsp butter

Directions

  1. Prepare fruit by washing, hulling, de-seed fruit. Then using a food processor crush or puree
  2. In a large sauce pan stir together prepared fruit, sugar and lemon juice
  3. Add butter and continue to stir
  4. Bring to a boil over high heat
  5. Boil hard for 1 minute
  6. Remove from heat and stir in Certo Liquid pectin.
  7. Stir and skim excess foam for 5 minutes to prevent fruit from floating.
  8. Pour into warm sterilized jars using a funnel to 1/4 inch from rim.
  9. Cover with lid and screw rings on tightly
  10. Let set for few hours
