Beef and Broccoli

Posted in /Cooking/Entrees/Red_Meat on Wednesday, March 29, 2017

I started making this when we lived far up north. I was craving good Chinese food so made some of my own.

Ingredients

1/4 cup flour
2 1/2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 pound boneless round steak, cut into bite size pieces (or marinated venison)
1/2 tsp ginger
2 clove garlic, minced
2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
4 cups chopped fresh broccoli (or cauliflower)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine flour, broth, sugar, and soy sauce. Stir until sugar and flour are dissolved.
  2. In a large skillet or wok over high heat, cook and stir beef 2 to 4 minutes, or until browned.
  3. Stir in broth mixture, ginger, garlic, and broccoli.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
  5. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes, or until sauce thickens.
