Baked Basa Fillets
Posted in /Cooking/Entrees/Seafood on Wednesday, March 29, 2017
Basa is a fish that takes on flavour so nicely. This recipe is similar to a homemade curry but is not overpowering.
Ingredients
2-4 basa fillets
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
1 eggs
1 wedge lime
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon turmeric fresh grated or dry
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions
1. In a bowl combine egg, parsley, salt, pepper, cumin, flour, turmeric and garlic.
2. Line the bottom of your baking dish with sliced onions.
3. My fillets were in the freezer so I put them in the refrigerator to thaw over night. Wash the fillets with cold water and use paper towel to dry them. Preheat the oven to 350F while you do the next step.
4. Just place your fillets on top of the onions in your baking tray and squeeze some lime juice on top of them. Next brush the egg mixture on top of your fillets and if you have extra you can do the bottoms too.
5. Bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes. You can broil on high for 3-5 minutes to make it a little more golden, if the egg mixture is still looking a little wet.
6. Top your Basa Fillets with a bit of freshly minced parsley and squeeze some lime juice and your dinner is ready!
