Swiss Brownies

Posted in /Cooking/Desserts/Squares on Friday, April 21, 2017

These brownies are a recipe from a good friend, she is half Swiss so that's where the name comes from. You won't think there is enough icing to cover the sheet of brownies but there is more than enough and it is very rich.

Ingredients

Brownie

1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Icing

3 Tbsp softened butter
3 Tbsp cocoa
1 Tbsp honey or corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup icing sugar
1-2 Tbsp milk

Directions

  1. Blend together butter, sugar and vanilla.
  2. Add eggs and beat mixture
  3. Combine dry ingredients, add to wet mixture.
  4. Pour into greased 9 inch square pan.
  5. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes
  6. For the frosting: Cream together butter, cocoa, honey & vanilla. Mix in icing sugar & milk
  7. Spread over cooled brownies.
