Wonton Crisps

These crisps can be a nice addition to a salad or to a dessert.


Ingredients

24 square wonton wrappers, thawed
1 large egg yolk
1 Tbsp heavy cream
4-6 Tbsp white or black sesame seeds or a mixture of the two

Sweet Topping

1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp ground dry ginger (1 Tbsp fresh zested ginger)
Pinch salt

Savory Topping #1

Freshly grated parmesan cheese
Fresh herbs minced - I used oregano

Savory Topping #2

Balsamic reduction for drizzle effect
Salt & pepper
Garlic powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl combine egg yolk and cream.
  3. Space wonton wrappers out on baking sheet so they are not overlapping and brush one side of the wontons wrapper with egg wash, then sprinkle with a your savory or sweet topping, about 1/2-3/4 tsp per wonton.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crisp.

Serve with salads or sorbet

Savory

Serve with salads, hummus or enjoy on its own.
