Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

Posted in /Cooking/Breads on Saturday, July 15, 2017

This recipe works for both muffins and loaves. I try to always have a few ripe bananas on hand in the freezer. A little tip for for freezer bananas is to peel them before you freeze them.

Ingredients

3/4 Cups sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup ripe banana mashed
1/3 cup sour milk (1/3 cup milk + 1 Tbsp lemon juice)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Grease and flour 1 loaf pan or prepare a muffin pan with paper liners
  2. Preheat oven to 350
  3. Cream sugar and butter
  4. Beat in egg, vanilla and banana
  5. Mix together in a separate bowl sour milk, baking soda then add to batter
  6. Beat in flour and baking powder
  7. Add chocolate chips
  8. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or bake in a muffin pan for 20-25 minutes.
