Trail Shrimp and Herb Pasta

Who said back country food has to be boring or bland? This is anything but normal back country food. The shrimp dehydrated in about 4 hours and the rest was all purchased and popped into the ziplock with minimal effort.
3-4 healthy servings
Ingredients
95 g dehydrated shrimp
8 Tbsp sundried tomatoes
4 Tbsp dried onions
4 Tbsp milk powder
4 cloves dried roasted garlic (or 2 tsp garlic powder)
2 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 cups egg noodles
2 1/2 cups water (the water label on the ziplock has been fixed here on the blog)
Directions at home
1. Marinate precooked shrimp for 15-20 minutes in some herbs but no acid liquids (citrus or vinegar) as it will make the shrimp tough when re-hydrate.
2. Dehydrate onions and tomatoes or purchase in the bulk food section at the grocery store.
3. Place shrimp in a large ziplock bag with vegetables, spices and noodles. In a small separate ziplock add 1 cup couscous and add this little bag to the larger bag.
Directions on the trail
1. Combine the ziplock contents and the water in your pot and allow to soak for 10-15 minute (we use this time to set up camp).
2. Bring to a boil and cook until noodles are done to your liking.
3. Enjoy trail gourmet style!
