Lava cakes are one of those fancy desserts you think needs to be made by a chef at a snooty restaurant. But this is defiantly something you can impress your friends with at the next house party. My students knocked it out of the park, so you can too!
If in doubt, do not add more time to the baking of these cakes. In order for the lava to flow you need to take them out before the centers are fully cooked. Don't worry they've been in the oven long enough to kill any bacteria from the eggs.

This is one of the recipes I use with my students during the milk and egg module. They always tell me that they don't like Swiss cheese, I take that as a challenge to prove them wrong! Students all want to try this once it comes out of the oven because it rises so beautifully.

I'm always looking for something new and fun to do with leftover rice. I should probably just start making less rice but where is the fun in that? I like to make this for my vegetarian friends as an alternative to a meatball. They can be stuffed with just about anything but I love cheese!

I'm always looking for new side projects for my students to really finish their plates with presentation in mind. These plantain chips are a new favourite among students, many of whom told me that they made them at home for their families shortly after the lab, which is the highest compliment from a student!
