Cider Mustard Vinaigrette

Ingredients

1/4 cup (60 mL) cider vinegar
1 tsp (5 mL) Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 1/2 Tbsp (25 mL) maple syrup or honey
1/4 cup (60 mL) olive oil

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shake-able container or whisk together in a bowl.
  2. Serve over quinoa or green salad.

Blue Cheese

Ingredients

1/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
juice and zest of 1/2 a lemon
salt and hot sauce to taste

Directions

  1. In a blender mix together all ingredients
  2. If the flavour is to strong, you can add feta or make the whole thing with feta instead of blue cheese
  3. Great for dipping sauce for hot wings!

Classic Vinaigrette

Ingredients

2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
pepper to taste
1/3 cup olive oil.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except for the olive oil in a shake-able container or whisk together in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add in the olive oil to help set the emulsification.

Asian Sesame

Ingredients

2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1 1/2 teaspoons grated peeled ginger
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1/3 cup vegetable oil (or other neutral oil)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shake-able container or whisk together in a bowl.
  2. This is great as a dressing or a marinade for chicken
